Lauren casually asked, “Would you be up for just a photo or two on a boat?”
Excuse me… absolutely yes.
We jumped on her family’s wake boat and timed it perfectly as the sun started painting the sky with those end of day colors photographers dream about. The wakeboarding photos are easily some of my favorites I’ve ever taken during a senior session.. This session is a perfect example of why I believe senior photos should look nothing like your classmates’ and instead feel personal, meaningful, and unmistakably you.
CLear Lake- Iowa
The Story
Lauren Elgin’s senior session in Clear Lake, Iowa is quietly one of my favorite sessions I’ve ever photographed, but let’s keep that between us. We started the day on her family’s acreage, capturing photos by the pond and in a wildflower field right in her backyard. The sun was strong and direct, but instead of running away from it, we got creative! From there, we headed to the local track to snap some photos to honor her high school track career. Next, we made our way to McIntosh Woods State Park for beach and dock photos before ending the session in the most epic way possible.
