If you’ve ever seen a little girl with a point-and-shoot camera glued to her hands, that was me. I started out snapping pictures of anything that caught my eye — flowers in my mom’s garden or my little sister (who endured countless “model” sessions),
My mom must’ve known this was more than just a phase. She signed me up for photography clubs, sent me off to photography camps in the summer, and helped plant the seeds of what would become my lifelong passion.
Fast forward to college — I picked up my camera again and decided, “I’m going to do this for real this time,” and launched Addy May Photography. And here we are today!
A Little Bit about me
I'm married to my husband John, and fun fact — picking a wedding photographer for our own big day was the hardest decision ever. (Yes, I’m that picky.)
This year, I stepped into a brand-new role: becoming a mom. And let me tell you…my poor son has already endured more photo shoots than most adults.
When I’m not behind the camera, you can usually find me enjoying my numerous grandma hobbies, cooking, baking sewing etc. (PS. I quilted that ;)
My favorite food is a Nova Lox bagel with cream cheese… even though I try to avoid dairy. I once had a Nova Lox croissant in New York — best thing I’ve ever eaten in my life
I was a former competitive gymnast If you give me a trampoline, I’ll throw a backflip.
I also have a thing for planting oddly colored veggies — purple peppers, gold beets, you name it. If it’s unique, it’s in my garden.

Natural light has a way of revealing truth—soft, authentic, and effortlessly romantic. It brings out real skin tones, honest emotion, and atmospheric beauty that no studio setup can replicate. It’s the foundation of my work and the reason your photos will feel timeless and alive.
I’ll choose natural light over anything every time.
let's have a little fun.

I’m a minimalist at heart. Clearing space brings me a strange amount of joy, which is exactly why you’ll often find me editing out anything that distracts from the moment, exit signs , hair ties, or clutter on countertops, you name it. If it doesn’t serve the story, I’m happily sending it to the digital trash. It’s more work on my end, but creating ] images that feel peaceful and true to you will always be worth it.
Believe it or not, I hate stuff.

II usually start dreaming up the next project before the current one is finished. Case in point: my photo booth camper. Because why not start renovating a camper while pregnant… and then keep going with a newborn? Seemed logical at the time. It's the same way I approach photography fully invested and always looking for the next creative idea.
I’M a doer through and through. I love New ideas!
